Public Relations Writing
This news release was written as an assignment in a Public Relations course for a fictional company dealing with a recalled product. This exercise was prompted as a dilemma between sharing the news of a faulty product while maintaining the trust of the consumer and the integrity of the company. During the writing process I chose to provide the negative information immediately and then work to rebuild the relationship with the consumer with the facts exposed.
The writing process was an additional exercise in ethical rhetorical strategies to both demonstrate a knowledge and responsibility of a problem and the appropriate action to create a solution.
